E-BRUNO for Faculty

Department Backup Edition

What is E-BRUNO for Faculty?

E-BRUNO for Faculty is UNO's faculty web service. It uses your faculty ID (typically your SSN) and faculty personal identification number (PIN) to give faculty members access to print off up-to-date class rosters, grade courses, view grading dates and a host of special blackboard functions. This document outlines the steps needed to perform E-BRUNO for Faculty's Registrar specific tasks (retrieving class lists and web grading).

What You Need in Order to Use E-BRUNO for Faculty

  1. For starters, you need to know your faculty/staff PIN. The need to authenticate a person electronically is vital for many web-based functions that UNO provides. All faculty and staff receive a PIN through campus mail at the time they become active in the Human Resource System or are added as active faculty to the faculty workload section of the Student Information System (SIS) with a correct campus address. Treat your PIN as you would a banking PIN. It authorizes the holder to information only the holder should have access to. For more information on your PIN, click here.
  2. You need a computer with Netscape Navigator version 4.0+ or Internet Explorer version 4.0+ web browsers and a connection to the Internet. Additionally, your web browser will need to be configured to accept "cookies", as a session token is needed to maintain a logged-in state. This is necessary to ensure that you and only you receive your confidential information. The cookie is never written to your disk and is destroyed when you log out or exit your web browser.
  3. You need to be listed in SIS as having E-BRUNO for Faculty access for your department. By default, the department chair will have access to all of their department's courses in E-BRUNO for Faculty. Additionally, department chairs can request that other staff members have similar access by sending a request to Sesweb. This access is only to be used under special circumstances. The instructor teaching the course is ultimately responsible for entering in their own class grades.
