UNO E-BRUNO Information

What is E-BRUNO?

E-BRUNO is UNO's web-based enrollment services system. With E-BRUNO, students can use their student ID# and PIN to log in and obtain grades, current class schedules, register for classes, pay tuition via credit card and much more! E-BRUNO provides student access to the UNO Student Information System (SIS) via the world wide web.

What is needed to login and use E-BRUNO?

First and foremost, you will need a valid student ID number and PIN to use E-BRUNO. You will also need Netscape version 4.0+ or Internet Explorer version 4.0+ web browsers. Additionally, your web browser will need to be configured to accept "cookies", as a session token is needed to maintain a logged-in state. This is necessary to ensure that you and you alone receive your confidential student information. The cookie is never written to your disk and is destroyed when you log out or exit your web browser. E-BRUNO uses SSL encryption to ensure confidentiality on student records and credit card transmissions over the Internet -- data is encrypted between the web server and the your PC. Many other web browsers may be successfully used besides Netscape or Internet Explorer, but we recommend Netscape 4.0+ or IE 4.0+.

What services are offered?

The E-BRUNO system provides the following student services via the world wide web:
  • Student grades for courses taken after 1985
  • Student class schedule
  • Web registration
  • Scan for available courses/electronic shopping cart
  • View tuition/fees billing statement
  • Pay tuition via credit card
  • Order official transcripts
  • View unofficial transcript of courses taken after 1985
  • View and/or change address
  • Application for Graduation
  • Change PIN
More services are under development, and will be added to E-BRUNO as they are completed.

What is the availability of service?

E-BRUNO hours of operation are:
  • Monday through Sunday 6:00 am to Midnight
  • The only exception is on the third Sunday of each month, there MAY be limited availabilty
E-BRUNO requires the Student Information System to be online and available in order to process student information queries. The UNO SIS system is taken down nightly to run batch production jobs. During this time, E-BRUNO is not available.

I clicked on the link from my PC at work, and it does nothing. What's wrong?

E-BRUNO runs on a secure web server. Chances are that your work PC is behind a "firewall", and normal web communications have been enabled, but secure web communications ("https" -- TCP port 443) have not. Usually, this is just an oversight by the data communications personnel in charge of the firewall. You can test this by trying to connect to a known secure web server such as https://www.acm.org. Contact your local network adminsitrator if SSL traffic is being blocked..
