Chris is originally from Fairfax, South Dakota. She is a graduate of The University of South Dakota, and spent 5 years in the admissions office at USD prior to coming to Omaha in 2000. May 2007 marks Chris's 5 year anniversary  with Recruitment Services at UNO.  She is also in charge of coordinating the Ambassadors.

A native of Necedah, Wisconsin, Jason has worked in the Education field for the past 7 years. Summer 2007 marks the start of his fifth full year in the Office of Recruitment Services at UNO. Jason has also been a teacher in his hometown of Necedah, and served as a Career Specialist at UW-Green Bay. Jason uses his "larger than life" size and demeaner to preach the importance of college to students. In addition to his regular recruitment duties, he is in charge of planning and organizing UNOs Open Houses.

Yano Jones began is fourth year in Recruitment Services in April, 2007.   He has worked at Wayne State College in the Office of Multicultural Affairs as a Student Advisor and Multicultural Recruiter. Yano is a former student athlete for the UNO-Maverick football team and has also played football with Omaha Beef and Iowa Blackhawks Indoor/Arena football team. His recruitment approach uses humor, enthusiasm and overall knowledge of his first hand experience about what UNO has to offer its students. Yano is responsible for coordinating Multicultural Recruitment for the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Lina Traslaviña is in her second year at UNO as the Community Outreach Coordinator. She officially became an alumnus Mav when she graduated with her Master of Science in Urban Studies from UNO. Lina is also a graduate from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in Business Administration and International Studies. She enjoys watching independent movies, cooking for people, talking about her family, traveling, and reading.  Ask her about the places that she has visited around the world! Did I mention that she is fluent in Spanish? Lina is responsible for reaching out to the Hispanic/Latino community in Nebraska and she also works with students who wish to transfer to UNO.

Jen Agnew an alumnus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha is new this year to the Recruitment Services office. She graduated from UNO in December 2005 with a Bachelors of Science in Speech Communication with a minor in Mass Communication and a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre. She has worked at Metropolitan Community College as a Recruiter and was lucky enough to serve as an intern in the UNO Recruitment Services office in 2005. Jen loves to chat with students about the opportunities available for their personal path to college and her own amazing experiences at UNO. She has been lucky enough to act in her free time and was recently seen on the Shakespeare on the Green stage in Love’s Labour’s Lost.  She is also in charge of coordinating the Matadors.

Cathi is an enrolled member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma and comes to Omaha from Albuquerque, New Mexico and various cities around Texas. She received her bachelors’ degree from UNO in History with minors in Native American Studies and Anthropology in 1999, and also completed her Masters in History with a minor in Native American Studies here at UNO. In addition to recruitment, Cathi works in Multicultural Affairs as an advocate and retention specialist for Native American students enrolled at UNO.
